METOPE STUDIO

Description:
>Our proposition for the competition for the new University of Lausanne building in Switzerland. The ground floor design maximizes the available square footage, while the upper levels embrace a strip-shaped layout that includes open office spaces. The exterior design incorporates features that enhance natural light and air circulation, thus mitigating overheating during summer months. The second level includes a newly created roof garden that will be accessible to all faculty members. We prioritized the creation of a dedicated plaza in front of the building, complete with custom-made furniture that offers shelter, shade, and rest. The main circular staircase provides seamless access for students to the two primary floors, with the auditoriums conveniently located in the basement and linked by means of a courtyard. Our focus on achieving a simple yet ordered structure is made evident by the pleasing and unique shape of the overall architecture.
